Registered Massage Therapy

What is Massage Therapy?

The practice of massage therapy is the assessment of the soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissues and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function, or relieve pain.

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage is intended for those looking to create a long term treatment plan with their RMT.

The treatment plan can be for a fresh injury or a persistent ache that has been there for years. Long story short, if you have specific areas that you would like to work on, therapeutic massage is for you!

Stretches and exercises are often given with this kind of treatment and there is extra time allocated at the end of the treatment to go through home care recommendations.

Wellness Massage

Looking to relax? Feeling some general stiffness? Stressed? Then Wellness Massage is for you!

Come in for some you time. Enjoy relaxing music while receiving a massage. The massage can still be specific to certain areas but can be full body as well!

Home care is still given but will be less intense then what may be received as part of a therapeutic massage.

*Other places may call this “relaxation” massage. The term “relaxation” is not used at In Motion because “relaxation massage” is defined as only engaging the most superficial tissues and not the deeper musculature.

Can’t decide which is best for you? Go therapeutic!

The cost is the same as Wellness Massages
